Important: Even though this is set in 1850 and based on America, Ash Fall RP and its lore is not tied directly to American History.

  • Roleplaying out or making reference to American History should not occur.
  • References to events such as the "Trail of Tears, Slavery, American Revolution, Civil-War" etc. should not be made in RP or be an integral part to your character's backstory.
  • Our server exists in its own unique world with its own history and lore.

Staff Authority: If you are deemed unfit to be a part of the community, the staff team has full authority to remove you.
Character Age: You are not allowed to RP as a minor or a pregnant character.
Age Requirement: You must be 18+ to play on the server.
Maturity: As an 18+ server, a certain level of mental maturity and common sense is expected.
Microphone: A working microphone is required. Do not use voice changers in a manner that doesn't make sense.
Consent: Anything involving consent must be respected at all times.
CFX & Character Names: Use appropriate names, not random symbols or single letters/numbers. Staff reserve the right to remove access.
Town Behavior: Towns are social hubs, not combat zones. Repeated or disproportionate violence in towns is not allowed.

  • Staff decisions are final. Use the ticket system to appeal.
  • Zero tolerance for hate, harassment, doxxing, cheating, or exploiting โ€” instant ban.

Age Requirement: You and your Character must be over 18 years of age.
Realistic Names: Use only realistic names appropriate for the time period.
Name Approval: Staff reserves the right to remove inappropriate names.
Jobs: You are allowed up to 3 jobs per character. All jobs must be either law-abiding or criminalโ€”no mixing.
Clothing: Use only realistic clothing appropriate for the time period.
No All-White: Characters may not wear all white clothing (50% or less white allowed).
No Copying Outfits: Do not copy/steal WL job outfits (Shawman, Law, medical, marshal).

If you have multiple characters, they cannot be related, share storylines, run with the same people, work at the same businesses, or share knowledge. That includes any sharing of items like cash, items, or horses.

  • Stay in character in-game. OOC disputes go in tickets unless urgent.
  • Do not DM staff โ€” open a ticket in the support channel.
  • Cop-baiting and false reports are not allowed.
  • If someone asks you to stop certain RP that makes them uncomfortable, you must stop.
  • Keep discussions civil โ€” screaming or excessive name-calling is not quality RP.

FailRP: Failing to maintain roleplay or acting unrealistically.
NERP: Non-Engaging Roleplay that follows rules but disrupts immersion.
Breaking Character: Don't break character during scenarios. Use /ooc if absolutely necessary.
Injury RP: Roleplay your injuries appropriately.
/status Usage: Only use for meaningful in-character context, not as name tags or jokes.

Robbery Intent: Always establish intent to rob and give targets a chance to respond.
Vehicle Exceptions: Horses, wagons, and trains are exempt from robbery initiation rules.
Item Limit: Maximum 5 items per robbery (cash doesn't count as an item).
No Kill & Rob: If you rob someone, you can't kill them. If you kill someone, you can't rob them.
Forfeit Protection: If you re-engage after being robbed, you forfeit protection.
Group Responsibility: Groups are complicit in rule-breaks during robberies.
No Repeat Robberies: Don't continuously rob the same people.
Participant Limit: Maximum 5 participants during robberies.
24-Hour Cooldown: One robbery location per 24 hours per person.
No Circumvention: Don't rotate initiators to circumvent cooldowns.
Single Initiator: Only one person may start a group robbery.
Stay in Area: Remain within robbery confines during the act.
Scam Limit: Scam RP limited to $20,000 maximum.
Interaction Time: Minimum 1 minute interaction before criminal acts.

  • Minimum 30 seconds of meaningful RP before robbing.
  • Chain robberies: 45 minutes between chains per person (group shares timer).
  • Loot limits: max 5 items (money counts). Weapons cannot be taken.
  • Protected items: 1โ€‘ofโ€‘1 crafting books and donor-paid items are not robbable.
  • On-duty staff/roles: some on-duty characters cannot be robbed or are limited.
  • Do not rob someone you killed; do not kill someone you just robbed unless RP justifies it.

Baseline expectation: Hostility should follow: Approach + presence โ†’ Clear intent โ†’ Time to respond โ†’ Non-lethal consequence when possible โ†’ Violence only if refusal/resistance escalates.
Not acceptable: Immediate shooting/roping as opener, "Hands up" with no scene, Ragebaiting civilians into forced scenes.

โš–๏ธ Rules of Engagement

Fair Warning: Give fair warning before shooting to kill/harm. Warning shots are NOT proper initiation.
Re-initiation: Previous aggression doesn't count - must re-initiate hostile engagements.
Marksmen: Only engage from far away when parties are informed of marksmen presence.
No KOS for Trespassing: Killing on sight for trespassing is RDM (except during raids).

๐Ÿ’ฅ RDM / VDM & Scene Limits

  • RDM/VDM: Banned - no killing/running over players without valid RP reason.
  • Scene Caps: Bank 5 per side, Fort 7 per side, Other robberies 5 per side, Group fights 5 per side, Gang fights 7 per side.
  • Outside Shooters: Allowed only with notice and count rules โ€” coordinate with law and staff.
  • Stay in Zone: Remain inside scene zone until it ends unless agreed chase occurs.

๐Ÿชข Hogties & Combat Mechanics

You cannot free yourself from hogties if someone has tied you up.
You can only break out if someone "loosens the ropes" or you're left unattended for more than 5 minutes.
If being dragged, you can cut the rope to free yourself.
You can escape from bolas.

โšฐ๏ธ Dead Bodies

You can't shoot dead bodies.
Dead bodies cannot talk while downed except to medical staff.
Don't keep a body as a hostage - killing means RP is over.
You have five minutes to move a body after combat ends with a death.

No pushing then shooting bodies on the ground - wait for people to stand up.
You may not log out 30 minutes after committing a crime.
Combat-logging (quitting/respawning to avoid interaction) results in permanent ban.

Witch/NPC Revival: Cannot remember last 30 minutes or events after being knocked out.
May describe injuries but NOT who caused them.
Forced Respawn: Lose one hour of memory before incapacitation.
Medic Revival: Remember everything up to moment of going down (no memory of events after).
Headshots: Blowing someone's head off doesn't affect memory rules.
No Return to Combat: If revived, you may not return to combat RP for at least an hour.
No Respawn During RP: Don't respawn during active RP scenarios.

โšฐ๏ธ Permadeath

All permanent character deaths must be submitted through a formal ticket including:

  • Reason for permanent deletion
  • Any wills associated with the character
  • Detailed plan of circumstances leading to death
  • Individuals involved in the death scene

Inheritance rules: Half of items and money may be inherited by a designated individual. Properties can be bequeathed to a spouse.

Note: Permadeath cannot be undone - no witness protection or amnesia.

No Alliances: Gangs cannot make formal alliances with other gangs.
Cross-Gang Combat: If multiple gangs engage, no mid-fight organization.
Combat Limit: 5 members max when initiating combat/crime.
Travel Limit: Up to 10 members for peaceful travel.
Police Limit: Police combat limit is 5 unless they initiate.
Territory Claims: Only gang camps can be claimed/defended.
No Cross-Gang Assistance: Gang members cannot help other gangs in conflicts.
Cross-Gang Crimes: Different gangs can commit crimes together but within limits.

All properties must follow in-game business and real estate channels.

Staff Authority: Staff can revoke player-owned businesses at any time.
No Unapproved Transfers: Cannot sell/assign businesses without staff approval.
No Proxy Ownership: Cannot own additional businesses by proxy.
No Society Theft: Don't steal from societies to the point they can't function.
In-Game Services: Business-to-customer services must be conducted fully in-game.

  • Purchase cooldown: 2-week cooldown between business purchases.

Story Conclusion: Water dumping ends all scenarios and feuds between involved parties.
Requirements: Need three documented RP scenarios that logically end in a dump.
Respect the Dump: Both parties must respect water dump finality.
No Rescue: Barbers, Lawmen, Doctors may not rescue from water.
Rescue Exception: Only if you see them get dumped and record it.

Staff Authority: Staff can repossess misused hideouts/camps.
Location Restrictions: No camps on Braithwaite Manor area.
Pre-initiated Raids: No initiation needed for camp defense within 100m.
Sensible Locations: Don't place in forts or important public areas.
No Annexation: Don't use camps to annex roads/public buildings.
Town Placement: No hideouts in towns (except Saint Denis with common sense).
Camp Tax: $5,000 monthly with 5 active members minimum.
No Furniture Walls: Camp furniture is decorative only.
Defense Rights: All camp members may defend during raids.
No External Defense: Non-members cannot defend camps.

Requires staff approval through support tickets.

Purpose: To end long-time feuds or organize structured fights.
Requirements: Evidence of feud and staff approval required.
